Burntshirt Vineyards operates a 30-acre estate winery in the mountains of Western North Carolina, with sites in Hendersonville and Chimney Rock. Two vineyards sit at elevations of 2,200 and 3,400 feet, and the operation grows red Bordeaux varietals along with six white varietals and hybrids, including Gruner Veltliner. Annual production is about 5,500 cases from roughly 90 tons of fruit. One location is in Hendersonville at the lower-elevation vineyard, while the Chimney Rock site includes a restaurant. In 2019, Burntshirt Vineyards received accolades such as North Carolina Winery of the Year and a Berlin International Wine Competition Gold Medal for its O Reserve Chardonnay.
