BIS is a result of the merger of the former Bonn American High School, American Elementary School and British High School. The roots of these three schools go back 65 years and draw on a much longer history.

Enrollment for 2023-2024: 825 students, aged 3 to 19 years, from 80 different countries, with 40+ languages. 
The largest groups represented are from Germany (18%), USA (18%), UK (9%), France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, China, India, and Canada.

Curriculum: IB World School, we offer the Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP) and Diploma Programmes (DP). Fully accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization, Council of International Schools and New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Class size: Average 18 students, maximum of 22 students per class.

Counselling: Counsellors support both Primary and Secondary students with their social and emotional needs.

Co-Curricular Programme: Competitive and social sports, dance, drama, vocal and instrumental music, musical theatre, scouts, TedXYouth, Student Council, Model United Nations, mathematics teams, homework club, science clubs, crafts, etc.
