The Bluegrass Area Development District (BGADD) is a regional planning and development organization based in Lexington, Kentucky, serving central Kentucky across a specified set of counties. It collaborates with local governments, community leaders, and state and federal agencies to strengthen the region’s economy, improve quality of life, and support long-term community resilience through technical assistance, regional planning, and program administration. BGADD’s work spans grant administration, economic and community development, infrastructure planning, workforce development, and aging and independent living services, enabling coordinated regional strategies and access to funding that individual communities may struggle to secure alone. As one of Kentucky’s 15 Area Development Districts, BGADD helps communities address shared challenges and pursue opportunities for growth, with a focus on planning, collaboration, and project delivery to support continued growth and resilience in the Bluegrass region.
