Blue Heron Headwaters Conservancy is a nonprofit environmental services organization founded in 1972, based at 7150 Dixie Highway Suite 2, Village of Clarkston, Michigan 48346, United States, and online at https://blueheronheadwaters.org. Formerly known as North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy, it is one of Michigan’s oldest land conservancies and operates as a community-supported organization. The group preserves natural lands and waters in northwest Oakland County and portions of Livingston and Genesee counties, and has protected more than 1,500 acres across six townships and two counties. Its work protects forests, fields, wetlands, and streams in the headwaters region of the Clinton, Shiawassee, Huron, and Flint Rivers, supporting clean water, wildlife habitat, and natural beauty for future generations. The organization’s mission is to protect land, water, and wildlife through preservation, stewardship, and education, guided by values including preserving nature, stewardship, sustainability, leadership, collaboration, learning, and transparency; in 2024 it appointed Jason Meekhof as Executive Director and reports revenue in the range of $10 million to $25 million.
