Black Bear Sports Group, Inc. (“Black Bear”) is a privately held company formed in 2015 that seeks investments in sports and entertainment facilities, amateur and pro teams and  youth sports events.  Our arenas are clean and professionally managed, and offer world class recreational offerings.

We focus on:
1) Ice arenas in metropolitan areas with compelling demographics
2) Markets with National Hockey League club presence
3) Arenas with an existing Tier I or Tier II youth hockey presence
4) Junior hockey teams

We have the ability to acquire healthy and stable arenas, but also to turn around under-managed or under-performing facilities as well. Current holdings include ice arenas in Chicago, Pittsburgh, New Jersey and the Washington, D.C. area. Junior 'A' teams we own and operate include the Youngstown Phantoms (USHL), Maryland Black Bears (NAHL) and Team Maryland (EHL).
