The Birmingham Metro Baptist Association is a voluntary coalition of about 180 local churches in and around Birmingham, Alabama. It coordinates mission and service opportunities aimed at addressing community needs, recognizing that collaboration can accomplish more than individual congregations. Its roots trace back to 1833 when the group formed as the Canaan Association of United Baptists, and several current member churches grew out of its mission work.
