Big Woods Electric Motor specializes in electric motor repair & rewinding. Whether it is a field coil, AC motor, DC motor, stator, servo motor or other electrical apparatuses, we can repair it. Family owned and operated since 1985, Big Woods Electric Motor is proud to have the employee expertise to repair and rebuild your motor correctly the first time. We are honored to serve the agricultural, industrial and commercial markets in the mid-west and abroad with customers in 38 states, Canada and around the world.

Big Woods Electric Motor was founded by Charles Bigwood in September, 1985 to meet the needs of farmers, commercial industries and manufacturers in the vicinity of Wahpeton ND and Breckenridge MN. Over the years our customer base has expanded to 38 states, Canada and Singapore.

Since our start in electric motor repair and rewinding we have became an authorized Baldor-Reliance Warranty Repair Center and Dealer, a Techtop Motor Dealer, Maska Pulley Dealer, Schaefer Ventilation equipment dealer and Winco Generator Repair Center.

In the early 1990`s we began repairing servo and robot motors for local manufacturing companies. These servo motors incorporated specialized feedback devices such as resolvers, tachometers and encoders. Since then we have expanded our repair services to include to all types of AC and DC servo motors. In October of 2000 we signed on with Motion Control Group, better known as MCG, to become an authorized repair center for their line of servo motors. Then in January 2011 we signed with Ametek to become their non-warranty repair center of servo motors.

Over the years Big Woods Electric Motor has always applied itself to meet the needs of our customers with excellence and integrity.
