BHS Construction was incorporated in 1965 under the name of Baril-Rogers, Inc. by RM Baril and Bill Rogers. In 1982, Wayne Sloan joined the firm, and was appointed as the firm’s president later that year. Over the last quarter century, BHS has grown into one of Manhattan, Kansas' most respected construction companies. BHS has been a part of some of the area's premier commercial, industrial, public and high-end residential projects. BHS has a long list of repeat customers. Over 90 percent of the current work load is negotiated as a pre-selected contractor. In the last five years, BHS has tripled its annual volume of work to meet the demand of its many repeat clients. Staff has increased to include three project managers, an office manager in charge of safety and human resources, four K-State Construction Science graduates, one Emporia State graduate and four MATC graduates. These team members have added a new energy to BHS, complementing the third generation involvement and expansion of the technology base in the firm. BHS currently uses Computer Ease software for project communication and submittal transfers. Win Estimating software is used for budgeting and hard bid estimating. Scheduling for projects is done with Microsoft Project. Our scanning process allows us to provide invoices with all time and material bills for owner verification.
