With Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and behavior intervention programs, a child diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder can be helped. Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a specific form of behavior modification. It is defined as the process of systematically applying interventions based upon the principles of learning theory to improve socially significant behaviors to a meaningful degree, and to demonstrate that the interventions employed are responsible for the improvement of behavior.  By functionally assessing the relationship between a targeted behavior and the environment, the methods of ABA can be used to change that behavior.
