The Bastrop Economic Development Corporation is a government-focused entity serving the City of Bastrop, Texas. Established in 1995 after residents approved a half-cent sales tax for economic development, it aims to attract, expand, and retain a diverse local employment base. To support this, it developed the Bastrop Business and Industrial Park—a 263-acre site at the crossroads of Highways 71, 21 and 95—designed with commercial and industrial zoning and ready-to-use infrastructure.

The BEDC funds research to identify community needs and development opportunities, offers incentives, helps locate suitable facilities, and guides projects from start to finish.
