Barrio Brewing Co. is a Tucson-based craft brewery and restaurant operator whose roots trace back to 1991 at Gentle Ben’s near the University of Arizona campus. It started with three core ales—Tucson Blonde, Red Cat Amber, and Copperhead Pale Ale—and has broadened its portfolio while keeping those originals in regular production. The company markets its products across Arizona, with Barrio Blonde, Barrio Rojo, and Barrio Blanco available in cans throughout the state, and its full catalog offered on draft from Tucson to Flagstaff. It has earned recognition in major competitions, including a Gold medal at the 2026 World Beer Cup for Nolan’s Porter, along with earlier honors at the Great American Beer Festival (Bronze for Barrio Rojo in 2015 and Gold for Nolan’s Porter in 2008). In 2024, Barrio opened a second licensed location in the Phoenix area, reflecting its status as Arizona's oldest brewery.
