Banco Pichincha Perú is a commercial bank based in Lima, Peru. Its origins date to 1964 as Financiera y Promotora de la Construcción S.A., later renamed FINANPRO and then Banco Financiero in 1986. Since 1997 its strategy has been guided by its main shareholder, Banco Pichincha of Ecuador, expanding beyond business lending into consumer banking, microcredit, and credit facilities such as payroll-based discounts and retail partnerships. The bank broadened its footprint with the acquisition of NBK Bank in 2001. In 2006 it introduced the Máxima credit card and, following a 2008 strategic alliance with Carsa, extended its network to about 100 offices nationwide.
