Held annually in late July, and celebrating its , belated, 30th Anniversary in 2021, this benchmark event attracts people from across Australia and overseas to North Queensland.

For nine days artists from around the world come together with Australia’s finest musicians to present over 35 concerts in a seductive tropical winter setting. The wide ranging program has great depth and embraces all comers; from the chamber music first timer to the aficionado seeking out the best, from to the office worker catching a quick concert after work to the casual tourist passing through North Queensland.

You can immerse yourself and detach from the cares of the day going to concerts morning, afternoon and evening or just take in as much or as little as you like, adding a stroll along palm fringed beaches and enjoying the fabulous local produce at great restaurants when the mood strikes.

Events like the signature Concert Conversations, concerts on normally inaccessible tropical beaches, the Ray Golding Sunset Series and the Governor’s Gala are just some of the attractions that ensure that artists and audiences want to come back each year for this cultural flourish during North Queensland’s tropical winter, and why it really does ‘Sound like Paradise’.
