Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency, Inc. (ACSS) is committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness in metro Atlanta and beyond. ACSS empowers our clients to achieve economic self-sufficiency and reach their ultimate potential to thrive in life. The nonprofit was created from a merger of two innovative and powerful organizations with similar missions - Samaritan House of Atlanta and Atlanta Enterprise Center - and is now working more effectively and efficiently to fight homelessness in Atlanta. Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency plays a critical role along Atlanta's continuum of care to break the cycle of homelessness because we are uniquely positioned to assess, train and motivate individuals to positively change their current circumstances. ACSS fulfills its mission through three core programs that address tangible and emotional barriers to employment and self-sufficiency by preparing individuals to identify and attain short- and long-term goals. Our programs include CareerWorks, a job readiness training and placement program, and the Veterans Employment Assistance Program, a targeted initiative aimed at helping veterans re-integrate into the workforce.
