The Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies is a professional organization that serves as the collective voice for North America’s fish and wildlife agencies. Founded in 1902 and based in Washington, DC, it aims to support and advocate for state, provincial, and territorial authority over conservation and to promote science-based resource management in collaboration with public and private partners. Its work sits within the government relations field, coordinating efforts among member agencies and external partners to address conservation policy and resource management. Its primary audiences are state, provincial, and territorial fish and wildlife authorities, along with public and private partners engaged in wildlife management. In 2024, the association partnered with North Dakota State University to undertake a statewide survey measuring the economic impact of hunting and fishing.
