The Assistance Center serves children, families and residents (including senior citizens) of Collin County by responding to people in crisis.  Some of the many services provided include:

- Informs, guides, directs, and links people to appropriate human service resources
- Provides emergency, short-term financial assistance to residence with valid needs
- Assists clients in the process of reclaiming financial self-sufficiency, through counseling, training, referrals, and financial support
- Conducts client intake and qualification for "community give-back" programs including school supply and holiday gift drives
