The Asian American Writers’ Workshop (AAWW), based in New York, focuses on creating, publishing, developing, and disseminating creative writing by Asian Americans, while providing a literary arts space at the intersection of migration, race, and social justice. Since its founding in 1991, AAWW has pursued the belief that Asian American stories deserve to be told, offering a countercultural public space to imagine a more just future for migrants, women, people of color, Muslims, and LGBTQ people. The organization serves writers and readers seeking to engage with these topics, providing a platform for storytelling and discourse.

It is located at 112 West 27th Street, New York City, New York, and maintains a relatively small staff. In 2023, AAWW partnered with City Lights to celebrate the publication Craft and Conscience: How to Write About Social Issues by Kavita Das, published by Beacon Press.
