The Architectural Association (AA) is a higher education institution based in London, with campuses in central Bloomsbury and a rural site for sustainable architectures. Founded in 1847 as a public forum and learned society, the AA operates as a professional association, a membership organization, a registered charity, and a publisher of architectural books and journals, as well as a prominent bookseller and public events program. It serves a global audience of students, professionals, and researchers interested in contemporary architectural culture, offering a platform for exhibitions, lectures, symposia, seminars, research clusters, and international collaborations. In addition to its core education and publication activities, the AA has formed partnerships and initiatives with design firms and other organizations, and maintains a notable footprint in architectural discourse through its residency programs and public programming.
