Aquatech International was founded in 2002 with the ambitious goal to provide the aquaculture com-munity with quality manufactured drugs, chemicals, biological along with scientific supplies and fish farm equipment to enhance the production of fish.

It is the only company dedicated to the industry and one that supplies approved Fish Breeding hormones, anesthetics, sedatives, drugs, chemicals and biologics. The company has entered into a strategic partnership with Syndel International and been providing its’ patented flagship product “OVAPRIM” and “OVAPLANT” for breeding fishes in captivity, since the year 2004. 

Our Vision is to be the catalyst in developing the fish farming industry and promoting aquaculture, thus contributing to the national economy and alleviating rural unemployment and poverty. 

Our Mission is to provide a service based on Competitive price, Consistent quality and Continuous search for the most updated products and related techniques. The Company provides a full range of products and services with the concept of an “Aquaculture Department Store” to fulfill the needs of the farming community.  

Induced spawning technologies has been the Company's specialty. With this technology, Tinfoil barb and Pacu has been bred at Green Aqua farm in Galle, while Redtail and Bala sharks are bred by Mr. F T Wawwage of Devinuwara. A successful trial was also conducted with Pangasiid catfish for the 1st time at our own facility and the technology has been transferred to several fish farmers.

Sea Bass (Lates Calcarifer) has been induced to spawn at Aqua N Green Hatcheries, Negombo in 2006 with "Ovaplant" - a slow releasing hormone in pellet form (Syndel Laboratories).  
 
It is well within the capabilities of the Company to provide the support systems needed, to assist the increase of product at the hatchery level or in the fish farm areas. The industry has come to rely upon Aquatech’s assistance in overcoming the many challenges it faces.
