Antamina is a polymetallic mining complex in Peru that produces copper, zinc and molybdenum concentrates, with silver and lead concentrates as by-products. Located in the San Marcos district of the Ancash Region, the operation sits roughly 200 kilometers from Huaraz at an elevation around 4,300 meters. The company also operates its own port, Punta Lobitos, located in the coastal Huarmey area. Antamina is structured as a Peruvian-registered joint venture among four major mining companies—BHP Billiton, Xstrata, Teck, and Mitsubishi Corporation. Headquartered in Lima, in the Santiago de Surco district, the company maintains a sizable workforce. It is one of Peru's leading producers of copper and zinc concentrates and ranks among the world's largest mines by operating volume. In December 2024, Adolfo Heeren was appointed as chief executive and general manager.
