Angel Flight West is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven aviation organization that arranges free, non-emergency air travel for individuals with serious medical conditions and other compelling needs. A network of more than 1,600 pilots across the 12 Western states donate aircraft, piloting services, and flying costs to help families access vital treatment that may be financially, medically, or geographically inaccessible. Based in Santa Monica, California, the organization operates within the Airlines and Aviation industry by coordinating charitable flights rather than providing paid transportation. Its services are targeted at patients and their families who require transportation to obtain medical care, and they address barriers related to cost, distance, and access to treatment. Recent activity includes partnerships and events indicating ongoing community engagement and collaboration with other organizations, such as a collaboration with the White Heart Foundation to support veterans and participation in industry award events.
