Angel Flight Central is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization that arranges charitable flights to support health care and humanitarian needs. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, it operates within a ten-state region in the upper Midwest, coordinating flight services at no cost to passengers. The organization relies on pilot volunteers and community contributions to cover operational expenses, with the vast majority of flight costs donated by pilots and other costs funded through donations. Its services address access barriers for individuals requiring medical travel, by providing a responsive network that can route flights through its region or connect outside-origin flights to its coverage area. Acknowledging its regional focus, Angel Flight Central emphasizes collaboration with broader charitable aviation networks and partners to extend reach and impact. A recent development includes participation in the AIR CARE Conference alongside other public benefit flight organizations, highlighting ongoing engagement with the broader charitable aviation community.
