The Amgen Biotech Experience, based in Waltham, Massachusetts, is a science education program that supports secondary schools by providing teacher professional development, teaching materials, and access to research-grade equipment and supplies. It offers a hands-on molecular biology curriculum that shows students the techniques scientists use to develop biotechnology medicines. Each year, more than 90,000 students and around 1,500 teachers participate, enabling classrooms to explore methods used in biotechnology research. In the biotechnology research landscape, the program operates as an educational outreach initiative affiliated with Amgen, serving secondary schools and science teachers. In May 2026, the program received the Goldies Award for Corporate Social Investment at the CECP Summit 2026.
