American Winds College of Aeronautics, based in Akron, Ohio, operates as a three-in-one aviation institution—a college, flight school, and charter company. It offers three Associate of Applied Science degree programs: Aeronautics with a Professional Pilot focus, Aeronautical Instruction for flight instructors, and Aviation Administration and Management. The school supports students with loan options and collaborates with Liberty University and Walsh University to allow degree completion alongside professional pilot certification.

Accreditation comes from the ACCET, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools. The institution operates as a Part 141 flight school and emphasizes training in all-season weather, with on-site aircraft, an AATD flight training device, online coursework, and unlimited ground school. In 2023 Walsh University announced a partnership with American Winds to offer a fast-track pilot training pathway with fewer required flight hours and lower out-of-pocket costs.
