ASHI, the American Society of Home Inspectors, is a national nonprofit organization that establishes and promotes standards for property inspections and provides educational programs to advance professional excellence. Its cornerstone is the Standard of Practice, a framework used by most home inspectors to guide inspections across major home systems and to support consistent, high-quality work.

The Standards are used in licensing states across the United States, in roughly 36 of them, and in Canada. The organization serves inspectors, real estate professionals, consumers, and the media through its resources and guidance on home inspection, while engaging with ongoing developments in the profession. ASHI is based in Hinsdale, Illinois, and began in August 1976.
