The American Rose Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the cultivation, preservation, and enjoyment of roses, providing education, research, and publications to its members. It is the oldest and largest single-plant horticultural society in the United States and operates a national network with more than 250 local chapters. The society serves home gardeners and rose enthusiasts by offering standards for judging competitions, workshop schedules, and a bi-monthly magazine, American Rose.

Founded in 1892, the ARS is headquartered at the American Rose Center near Shreveport, Louisiana, a facility it has occupied since 1974, and it operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization. The Rose was designated the national floral emblem of the United States in 1986, reflecting the organization's broader mission to educate and preserve rose history and horticultural knowledge. In 2021, ARS appointed an Accounting Director, representing ongoing organizational development.
