The American Logistics Association (ALA) is a voluntary, nonprofit trade association that brings together manufacturers, their representatives, brokers, distributors, publishers, and other companies that supply products and services to the military resale systems and Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs. Based in Washington, D.C., the organization is a small to mid-sized nonprofit dedicated to promoting, protecting, and enhancing military resale and quality-of-life benefits for its members and the broader military community. ALA operates through partnerships with the military resale systems, MWR, suppliers, distributors, and military patrons, and has positioned itself as a key resource for navigating the military marketplace. The military resale channel includes Commissaries, Exchanges, MWR services, and Veteran’s Canteen Service, a worldwide market with nearly $20 billion in annual sales, highlighting the scale of opportunities the association connects its members to. In March 2021, ALA announced a partnership with the Department of Defense, reflecting ongoing collaboration with DoD, industry, and Congress to support service members’ experiences in both appropriated and non-appropriated activities.
