American Dermatopathology Laboratory is the creative vision of Dr. H. Nicholas Shamma. We are a comprehensive, CLIA certified and independent laboratory, with a nationwide reach. As a physician owned lab focused on providing clinicians and their patients with reliable diagnoses of skin biopsies, we use state of the art processes and a high standard of care. We are excited about this endeavor. We practice dermatopathology backed by experience, individualized service/support and above all kindness and compassion.

Clinicians sending to our lab expect an experienced dermatopathologist who truly believes that behind each skin biopsy there is a human being. The patient is not just a case number, a billable code or a dollar sign. We care more about how well we do and not about how many biopsies we interpret or income we generate. At American Dermpath Lab, the biopsy is cared for by a team of laboratorians with combined experience of more than 80 years. Personally, Dr. Shamma has diagnosed over one million skin biopsies in his career.  We offer you electronic accessibility to your patients’ results by a variety of  HIPPA compliant methods, mail, fax, and remote printing. As part of our service, we offer you biopsy supplies and mailing options including local courier pick-up and UPS/FedEx mailing.
