AAIM is a nonprofit organization based in Schaumburg, Illinois, focused on preventing impaired driving and supporting victims of drunk and distracted driving crashes across the state. Founded in 1982, it conducts programs aimed at increasing awareness of the dangers of drunk driving and underage drinking, while offering assistance to those affected. It provides crash victim support during court proceedings, advocates for tougher legislation, and works to engage judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement in addressing impaired driving. AAIM has historical roots as the first grassroots citizen group in Illinois focused on drunk and drugged driving, and it is the only organization that provides direct financial assistance to crash victims facing financial hardship. In December 2025, AAIM announced a partnership with IDOT, the Governors Highway Safety Association, and Lyft to launch the Christmas & New Year's Safe Ride program.
