Our organization first got its start in 2009 when Founder and CEO Iris Shamus saw the need for fun, non-intimidating ways to teach her son Ben about his severe food allergies and asthma. Iris drew up characters and created backstories that both Ben and his friends loved, and these characters soon found their way onto a complete line of products designed to alert individuals of a child’s health concern. 

Today, thousands of kids rely on these AllerMates products, which are sold in over 5,000 retail locations around the world and have been featured on such national programs as The Today Show and The Doctors.
