The Mid America Cooperative Council (MACC) provides education and training services to help cooperative business employees, directors and member/owners understand their unique responsibilities. MACC emphasizes transparency, engagement and communication with customers who, also, govern their cooperatives. MACC provides roundtable discussion conferences for cooperative business managers and emerging leaders to share their successes and challenges, in dealing with customers who are, also, owners. MACC also provides custom tailored education classes for the special needs of your cooperative (please contact Rod Kelsay, Exec. Director at (317) 726-6910 for more information about your co-op's special educational needs). For a broader company description, please visit our website at http://macc.coop/. Cooperatives are self-governed organizations that serve an important need for their member/owners. Each member/owner has a financial investment that forms the core equity foundation of their business, thus every member is an owner. Profits beyond those which are needed to operate the cooperative are distributed back to the owners, based on their use and not their level of investment. Cooperatives are governed by a board of directors who are, also, member/owners and are elected on a democratic basis - one member, one vote.
