The Albany Symphony Orchestra is a regional orchestral organization based in Albany, New York. It serves a broad and diverse regional community with live performances, innovative educational programming, and cultural events, and it records and disseminates music by living composers to shape contemporary musical culture. Founded in 1930 in New York’s Capital Region and led by David Alan Miller, the ensemble has earned multiple ASCAP Awards, two Grammy nominations, and a 2014 Grammy for its recording of John Corigliano’s Conjurer. In 2024 it launched Water Music NY: More Voices as part of the American Music Festival, expanding its contemporary programming and community engagement.
