The Alabama Blues Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Northport, Alabama, founded in 1995 with a mission to preserve and promote blues history and music. We offer blues music lessons taught by professional musicians in guitar, harmonica, drums and vocals through afterschool and summer camps and in-school programs. The lessons are open to children of all skills level ages 8-18 and instruments are provided. We also feature an Advanced Band that performs regularly at community events. We strive to never to turn away a child due to inability to pay and we offer need-based financial assistance.
