AIMS is a construction manager/general contractor that specializes in healthcare and higher education renovation projects. 95% of our work occurs in active facilities enabling us to become complex phased renovation experts. Today, AIMS has three offices – Detroit, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Columbus, Ohio that service the great lakes region of Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Founded in 1972, AIMS began as a painting contractor. Due to AIMS exceptional performance in hospitals, we were awarded our first construction management project in 1981. After continued success in the Michigan market, AIMS set sights on expanding geographically and in 2008 opened the Pittsburgh, PA office and 2017 opened the Columbus OH office. Healthcare represents the majority of AIMS work. The majority of this workload occurs in active hospitals. Most of those projects are highly complex, multi phased, renovation projects with ongoing hospital operations. Currently, AIMS works in over a dozen hospitals in the region, including two of the top 20 hospitals in the US, according to US News and World Report. Higher Education work represents our second focus area. This work has come from major universities in the region such as the University of Michigan and the University of Pittsburgh. Work with these institutions have spanned from housing renovations to complex laboratory work for Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Vascular research laboratories. Keeping with our focus on complex phased renovations, our third focus area of Infrastructure rounds out our portfolio of expertise. This work has included emergency generator replacement, bulk medical gas facilities, and HVAC, electrical and sprinkler upgrades. Lastly, any company is defined by their values.
