AHRC New York City is a nonprofit organization that operates as a Chapter of The Arc New York. Based in New York City, New York, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually and centers its work on advancing equity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with the goal that they lead full and equitable lives. As a family-governed entity with a history of more than 75 years, the organization emphasizes a long-standing commitment to excellence and innovation in its supports. Beyond direct supports, AHRC NYC advocates for changes in legislation and public policy and works to improve education, living arrangements, employment prospects, and community participation for people with disabilities and their families. It partners with NYC Health + Hospitals and state offices to help individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and co-occurring mental health diagnoses transition from hospital stays into community-based transition programs with intensive clinical and case management supports. In October 2025, AHRC NYC was recognized with the 2025 CQL Award of Excellence.
