In October of 1932, a small group of Veterans Administration employees founded the "Veterans Administration Employees Credit Union of the District of Columbia". Their mission was to promote thrift among their fellow employees of the Veterans Administration and provide a place where they could attain credit.

Since that time the credit union has grown and prospered and the Veterans Administration has been instrumental in our success. Over the years there have been a number of mergers and name changes; today Advantage Financial Federal Credit Union serves not only the employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs Central Office but anyone who lives, works, worships or goes to school in the District of Columbia as well as the employees of the VA Stratton Medical Center in Albany, NY, employees of the Brooklyn VA Medical Center, and employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs in Philadelphia, PA. 

Today the credit union is a full service financial institution offering the latest in mobile and online banking technology, plus more than 55,000 fee-free ATMs through the Allpoint network. We continue to support that original mission by offering a wide variety of deposit accounts and some of the most competitively priced loans and credit products in the marketplace.
