Academic Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution serving individuals employed in education across New York’s Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and surrounding regions, including Westchester and Rockland counties. Based in Briarcliff Manor, NY, the organization provides a range of financial services intended to benefit its members by pooling earnings from loan interest and fees to offer higher savings dividends and lower loan rates. Positioned within the financial services sector as a member-owned credit union, it emphasizes serving educational professionals rather than the broader consumer market. The model centers on member shareholders, with the credit union inviting education-affiliated individuals to join, and it maintains a presence in the community through its online and social channels. A recent development includes ongoing membership outreach and engagement efforts, as reflected by its digital presence and contact avenues.
