ABC2, also known as Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, is a Washington, District of Columbia–based organization in the Research Services industry focused on accelerating therapies for brain cancer. Over 18 years, its board and founders pursued a venture-style approach within the nonprofit sector to address gaps that slow progress and bring therapies to patients. It supported a broad research ecosystem by engaging investigators and physician-scientists from 54 institutions and companies and by advancing a significant portfolio of therapies toward clinical testing. In its 18th year, the organization announced plans to wind down the foundation and hand leadership to a new generation. Its activities targeted researchers, physician-scientists, and industry collaborators involved in brain tumor research, with the aim of accelerating translation from laboratory findings to patient treatment. During its operation, ABC2 helped move 30 therapies into the clinic for brain cancer patients.
