A Media was formed in West Oakland in 1989 by Doniphan Blair, a graphic designer, photographer and copy writer. After graduating from the San Francisco Art Institute in graphics/video, he worked at various publishing houses and ad agencies including Matthew Bender, Carolyn Bean and Beatific. Doniphan's partner in image making is Nicholas Blair, his brother, a museum-quality photographer as well as lighting cinemographer and video producer who has done projects for the History Channel, Disney, PBS, National Geographic and others. After switching to include web in the mid-90s, A Media has always hired the best local technical team available. Juan Herrera, with fifteen years web, security, and programming experience as well as an entrepreneurial background. And Luigi Frigo, with ten years of online marketing, Search Engine Optimization SEO, Oline Marketing, branding and website design. We integrate the culture the audience and the client. Quality communication, whether commercial, artistic or social service, requires this. While we specialize in Oakland, film/video, environmental and a few other disciplines, we are adept at learning culture (we are bilingual Spanish) and dedicated to expressing yours. We can project, print or manufacture manage, meaning we take over from first sketch until final project delivery. Whether it is a print, banner or T-shirt run—vendors for which we have almost entirely in West Oakland, allowing us to press check or provide rushes very easily—or the manufacture and installation of massive architectural banners or specialty lit signage, we do it all. We schedule, check-up on, do all quality checks and insure timely delivery. The cost is 20% of manufacture fee, or for project, creative and manufacture.
